Husky Base Rail Kit Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram- Video
Today in our 2006 Ram 2500, we're going to be taking a look at, and installing, the Husky Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, part number HT31413-686. Here's what it looks like once its installed. It's got a nice, black, powder-coated finish. It's a custom kit that uses existing holes on your frame to help expedite in your installation time by not having to drill any holes in your frame. It's going to work with most of the 5th wheel hitch manufacturers on the market. One of the reasons you're going to want a hitch like this is, it's going to make your installation time very quick, because you're only going to have to drill four holes through the bed of your truck, where some of them are going to require you to put six or eight holes through the bed of your truck. This kit will allow you to install your Hi-Rise 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch in your truck bed. This is Part Number: 9480-5W. This 5th wheel instillation kit doubles as a goose neck trailer hitch. When you aren't towing your 5th wheel trailer simply remove the hi-rise hitch to free up the ball hole that this kit will recreate in your truck bed. This is our hitch ball. It's 2 and 5/16ths diameter and it's rated for 30,000 pounds; with the pin in place the ball is definitely not going anywhere. more

Reese 5th Wheel Base Rail Kit Installation - 2005 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today on our 2005 Dodge RAM pickup 1500 Series Quad Cab, we'll be installing the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches, part number RP50040-58. To start our install, we're going to go ahead and remove the rear tires and lower the spare tire to give us some more working room. Next, we need to go ahead and remove the bracket that holds our emergency brake cables. We'll go ahead and take this bolt out, remove the bracket, but hold on to it because we will reinstall it. Now our wiring harness here on the driver's side, we need to go ahead and remove the hangers here that are just push fasteners that hold it in the frame, so when we move our side brackets up, it doesn't interfere. You can take flat blade screwdriver or a curved handle removal tool, and just pop it free. There's one right here, and then right by the gas tank, another one, pop that free. more

Husky Base Rail Kit Installation - 2003 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on our 2003 Dodge Ram Pickup, we'll be installing the Husky Custom Base Rail and install kit for fifth wheel trailer hitches, part number HT31413-686. To begin our finstall, we're first going to go ahead and lower and remove the spare tire. This will give us additional working room underneath the pickup. With our spare tire out of the way, we're also going to go ahead and remove both rear wheels to give us some more working room. With our spare tire and rear wheels removed, we're going to move to the pickup bed and begin the install. We'll take our base rail kit, set it in the bed rail. Now once we get the rail in, we'll measure from the end of the pickup bed to the rear portion of the rail and then from side to side, getting it in place. Next, we'll take our second rail, or rear rail, we'll go ahead and set it into approximate position, because it's 22 inches from center of front rail to center of rear rail. more

Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup, we'll be installing the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Install Kit, part number C16420-204. To begin our install we'll first go ahead and raise the vehicle and remove the rear wheels. Now, with our rear wheels off, you'll notice the spare tire is also missing on this application. If yours is still in position, recommend to go ahead and lower and remove it to gain more working room underneath the vehicle. Next, we'll need to relocate the manufacturer's wiring harness on the inside of the frame rail to allow for our brackets and hardware. To do that, we're just going to use our trim panel tool and pop the fasteners free that hold it to the frame. more

Today on our 2005 Dodge Ram pickup, we'll be installing the B&W Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, part number BWGNRK1313-5W. The B&W Companion Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, part number BWRVK3500, is designed to be used with B&W Custom Underbed Installation Kits for Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches. Now before we begin our install, we'll go over the operation of the hitch. To unlatch the pin simply pull here on the driver side wheel well and rotate it forward. This will lock the pin in the open position which will allow you to either insert the ball or flip it over for the storage position. Once you have the ball in place, you'll simply take the handle and release it back all the way in. This will lock the ball in place. Now we can show you how the safety chain loops work. more

Fifth Wheel Installation - 2011 Ram 3500- Video
All right today on this 2011 Dodge Ram pickup 3500 Series Crew Cab we're going to install part number C16420-104. To start off our install we need to remove the tires and wheels and also the fender well liners to get access to the frame. We'll do this on both sides of the truck. Then we'll get underneath the truck and we need to loosen the wire harness on the drivers side. We'll go ahead and work the harness loose and just get it loosened up for work later. Now we'll go to the spare tire area and remove the heat shield. more

All right today, on this 2012, Dodge Ram, we're going to install part number Rp50140-58. While we're underneath the vehicle we'll go ahead and start off by detaching the wire harness on the inside driver's side frame rail. This is going to give us room to install a frame bracket later on. We'll have to remove the heat shield for the spare tire too. On the passengers side next to the exhaust, we'll go ahead and remove the rubber hanger to give us some clear, so we can install the bracket. There two clips on the end of two, of the three pens holding the exhaust in place. more

Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram pickup we'll be installing the Curt custom fifth wheel installation kit, part number c16420-204. To begin our install first note we've already gone ahead and lowered and removed the spare tire and both rear wheels. Next we'll need to remove the heat shield. To do this there are a total of five fasteners that will need to be removed. We'll go ahead and remove the fasteners, and set the fasteners and heat shield aside to be reinstalled later. Using the measurements provided with our installation kit, we'll be taking the rear base rail and set it into position. more

Fifth Wheel Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 well be installing the Reese quick install custom base rails with installation kit part #: RP50140-58. Weve already gone ahead and lowered and removed the spare tire. Well begin by detaching the wiring harness here on the inside of our frame. Well pry off the clips from the frame allowing the wiring harness to hang down and out of the way. Well now move into the bed of the truck where well place the rear mounting rail into the bed and using a tape measure well center the rail between the weld seems on the length of the truck. Well also need to make sure that we get the rail the proper distance from the rear edge as indicated in the instructions. more

Today on this 2002 Dodge Ram Pickup 2500 Series, were gonna install part number RP30035.Well start it off by removing the rear wheels. You dont have to do that but it makes things easier to install. Plus, you also have to remove the inner fender liners as well. Those are riveted in place so we had to drill those out. Weve also removed the spare tire additional base if we need.Now our next step would be to go ahead and start placing the rails in the bed of the truck. Fifth Wheel Hitch Kit Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Series Mega Cab- Video
Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Series Mega Cab we will be installing the signature series rail kit part number 30074. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our cross members under the bed is to remove our spare tire and get it out of the way so we have some more working room. The cross members we are going to be installing are going to be sitting in between the two hat channels right above the exhaust and over top of the gas tank as well. On standard models you can follow the directions to fit the cross members in from underneath the bed and just manipulate them into position. However on this mega cab model the spacing is not there for us to do that so what I am going to do is loosen up the bed and slide the cross members in from the outside of the frame directly across over the top. 00:48 more
